+ What is a CSA?
CSA stands for “community supported agriculture”. When you join a CSA program, you subscribe to a weekly produce service. Each member receives a share of the harvest delivered to a pre-determined location or your home/office. Foster Brady Farm does not charge a membership fee. Wikipedia provides a good overview of CSA model.
+ How much does a share cost?
Drop-in, no commitment rates are $35/week for large shares and $27/week for small shares, pending availability.
The more you commit, the more you save! Purchase four or more weeks for discounts up to $5 per week. You can pick your weeks, and they don't have to be consecutive.
+ How do I pay?
We accept EBT, check, cash, or credit/debit card, but cards incur an additional fee to cover processing expenses. Prices in our online store include a 7% markup to cover website and processing fees.
Payment is accepted at time of pickup or checks may be mailed to or dropped off at our office 144 Hiawassee Ave, Athens, 30601.

+ How many people does a share feed?
It’s specific to one’s lifestyle, but generally, large shares provide a family or two-person household of avid cooks with produce for a week. A small share is great for an one-person household or couple that cooks occasionally. Some clients split shares with friends, but splitting shares may result in fatal games of rock-paper-scissors.
+ Can I pick what varieties I get each week?
Nope. All CSA members receive equal portions of freshly harvested crops. But please reach out to us with suggestions! We strive to provide a diverse share every week and try to rotate staples so you don't become overwhelmed. For examples of weekly shares, please check our CSA photo album or our Instagram account @fosterbradyfarm.
+ What happens if I go out of town and can’t pick up my share?
Notify us by noon Monday and opt out during your absence. We'll forward your payment to a future week of your choice or you may use it to purchase our add-on items offered exclusively to our CSA members or our merch.
If paying for the year in advance but know you’ll get out of town at some point, subtract a couple weeks and have them as floaters throughout the year.
We can't put the produce back on the plant, so we do not offer refunds. If you miss the Monday noon deadline, we suggest having a friend pick up your share or arranging for us to donate it on your behalf.
+ What is Certified Naturally Grown?
Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) is a sustainable farming certification program designed for small-scale farmers. CNG farmers don’t use synthetic herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms. CNG standards for produce and livestock certification are similar to the standards of the U.S. National Organic Program. Learn more at http://www.cngfarming.org
